Why we do it

We create beautiful products children can appreciate.

In late 2013, children’s book illustrator Kim Holt and developer Greg Pearson found themselves searching for ways to expand upon their ideas for developing apps. They decided to design and develop a children’s app based on ABC’s. The app, Apha Fun, Let’s Play from A-J, was released in early 2015.

The app was well received so they decided to dive in and create "Alpha Fun, Come Play with me!" They also began working with others to create children’s book apps and other products to encourage play. In July 2015, Kim and Greg founded KrakenEight™ as a place to develop and grow these ideas.

Because there is nothing like a child’s boundless imagination our beautiful apps, e-books, and toys encourage development and enrichment, while enhancing learning. As a boutique product company KrakenEight™ believe’s in bringing to you items which are entertaining, and bring that sense of wonder and magic children (and adults) seek.

Every child is special so we offer exclusive and limited quantities to maintain high quality products. We know they will get used often :) All creations are fully our own and are designed in house and are developed in conjunction with the children who inspire them.

In short…we make things that are inspired by the ones we love the most our children.
